Terms of use

You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to online services or for consenting to the use of your data, you must meet that age instead. Accounts held by anyone below the required age are closed when we learn of them.

You may not use llanakin if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms.

You sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. Keep your login details to yourself: anything posted from your account is treated as yours, and you are responsible for it.

Your username is unique and can be changed, within limits that stop rapid switching. Freeing up a username means someone else may take it later. Do not impersonate another person, brand or organisation, and do not use a username, display name, bio or picture that is abusive or misleading.

One person, one account. Automated or bulk account creation, and running accounts on someone else's behalf to inflate replies, likes, reposts, follows or streaks, are not allowed.

Replies are limited to 280 characters and belong to a single day's question. Only the current day is open for new replies and reposts; earlier days can be read but not added to. Posts, likes, reposts, follows and profiles are visible to anyone unless you set your account to private, in which case your posts are visible to followers you have approved.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to store, copy, display and distribute your content for the purpose of running and promoting llanakin, including showing it in feeds, threads, profiles and archived days. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a short time or where we must keep records by law.

Only post content you have the right to post. Do not post material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark or other rights.

Harassment, threats and incitement to violence. Hate speech or attacks based on ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. Sexual content involving minors, and any sexual content posted without consent. Spam, scams, phishing and misleading commercial promotion. Posting other people's private information, such as addresses, phone numbers or identity documents. Encouraging self harm.

Do not attack the service: no scraping beyond ordinary reading, no attempts to bypass rate limits, no probing or breaking access controls, no automated flooding of posts, likes, messages or game rooms, and no interfering with other people's use of the site.

You can message people you follow. If they do not follow you back, your first message arrives as a message request they can accept or ignore. Messages are private between the people in the conversation, but they are not end to end encrypted: they are stored on our systems and can be reviewed if they are reported to us for abuse. Blocking someone stops messages between you.

Game rooms are temporary. Anyone with a room code can join, with or without an account, using a nickname. Whatever you type into a game is shown to the other people in that room, so treat it as public to them. Rooms and their contents are deleted when everyone leaves or after a period of inactivity, and game answers never appear in feeds, on profiles or in the archive.

The daily question is written for llanakin, in some cases with the help of an automated language model, and reviewed against recent days so questions do not repeat. Questions are conversation starters, not advice.

We can remove content and limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other people or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why. You can ask us to review a decision by writing to hello@llanakin.com.

You can stop using llanakin at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything you posted. See the privacy policy for how that works.

llanakin is provided as it is, without warranties. We may change, pause or discontinue features, and we do not promise the service will always be available or free of errors or data loss. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost content, lost profits, or for what other users post. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement, including under Swedish and EU law.

We may update these terms. When a change matters to you we will show a notice in the app or send an email before it takes effect. Continuing to use llanakin after a change means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top always shows the current version.

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes belong to the Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
